Education
Hertford County's largest town, Ahoskie, is home to the Roanoke Chowan Community College. In addition to offering associate degrees in numerous programs, the college will custom design training classes for new and expanding businesses free of charge. The college also has a Small Business Center which provides assistance to small entrepreneurs. Ahoskie is also home of Shaw University Cape Center.
Murfreesboro, the second largest town in Hertford County is home to Chowan
University. Chowan offers programs in liberal arts and humanities, sciences and mathematics, fine arts, business, criminal justice and computer programming.
